Since its inception, Bodegas Alto Moncayo has bottled the highest quality wines made from the old Garnacha vines of Campo de Borja. This effort has allowed these established vines to be preserved and saved from being uprooted due to their low yield productivity, as well as their laborious and expensive management.
The wines made by Alto Moncayo represent the essence of Garnacha, sharing the triumphant originals, Veratón, Alto Moncayo and Aquilón, a distinctive production style with an exceptional personality that the consumer values and appreciates.
In 2013, Bodegas Alto Moncayo launched a strategic plan to continue planting and growing its vineyards. For this purpose, farms located in the remaining best areas have been acquired and for this expansion a rigorous selection of the best native Garnacha vines has been carried out.
This new project is called “Locos por el Vino” under which we want to expand our range of high-quality, uniquely different products, with a modern and casual style, produced from the winery’s youngest vineyards. Building on an innovative winemaking style that respects and shows the potential of each of the varieties used in our new wines: Zismero, Barambán and Gruñón.
These brands will be guarantors of the continuity of the Alto Moncayo project for future generations to come….
